Our uniform is both practical and comfortable and gives children a sense of belonging to the school community. The school uniform, which all children are expected to wear, consists of:

• Grey shorts/skirt/trousers
• White polo top
• Maroon cardigan/sweatshirt
• Black shoes (in the interests of safety please ensure your child wears suitable shoes to school)
• In Summer children may wear a gingham dress.

All children also require an indoor PE kit. This consists of black shorts, a white T-shirt and black pumps. KS2 children should also have outdoor kit which includes tracksuit trousers, a warm sweatshirt and trainers.

Whilst we sell branded white polo tops, maroon sweatshirts/cardigans and white PE T-shirts, which are embroidered with the school logo, these are not a compulsory part of the uniform and pupils are also able to wear non-embroidered items purchased from supermarkets or other clothing outlets.

At certain times of the year your child may require a Forest schools kit. This includes wellingtons/sturdy boots, waterproofs and warm layers. You will be sent further details when this is required.

For health and safety reasons only small studs and watches are allowed to be worn by pupils. Apart from the risk of loss, there are many practical activities in which it constitutes a hazard to both wearer and other children. Both must be removed before P.E. lessons. If young children are unable to do this independently, these need to be removed or taped up before they come to school on these days.

Teachers are not permitted to remove earrings for pupils. We would encourage any new piercings to be done during holiday periods.

In the interests of health and safety, hair – if longer than shoulder length – should be tied back. No make-up or nail varnish should be worn.

At St Leonard’s Primary School, all pupils are expected to maintain a neat and tidy appearance. Hair should be of one natural colour and must not be brightly coloured or dyed. Hair extensions are not permitted. Hairstyles should be moderate, avoiding any extreme lengths or styles that may draw unnecessary attention.

At SLT’s discretion, exceptions to the above may be made in exceptional or compassionate circumstances.This policy is designed to promote a sense of pride, equality, and respect within our school community.

All items can be purchased via Scopay and then collected from the main School office.
